Was thrilled to have been part of an amazing event this past Sunday, supporting my old chum Steven Tyler.
#JaniesFund is a philanthropic initiative created by living legend #StevenTyler in partnership with Youth Villages to bring hope and healing to girls who have suffered the trauma of abuse and neglect. Steven first gave voice to this cause with his hit “Janie’s Got a Gun,” and his establishment of the fund ensures that these vulnerable girls will have an enduring voice for years to come.
Steven asked if he could use a portrait I had taken of him as a 10ft print in the entrance to the Janie’s Fund event. This conversation then changed to can I be an ‘auction lot’ at the event…where someone can bid for a private shoot with me actually at the event!?!
Auctions make me a little jittery as they could go either way. But the ‘Tyler planets’ alined that evening and a very kind bidder paid $100,000 for a photo shoot with me.
I am thrilled this little ‘over the phone’ idea by Mr Tyler has been able to help those who need it the most.
