John’s anecdotes were hilarious and you knew a story was going to be a goody when it began “Did I tell you the one when Richard Harris and I…" John was a wonderful friend and champion of my work for over 25 years. All of us, each and everyone, needs a champion in our life.
Someone who encourages and nurture. Nothing was too much trouble and a raspy “well tell them to f*ck off” in the response to stories of people being a hindrance. I’m sure he is down there looking up with a huge grin on his face and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon in hand. See you again one day old friend.
